Investigation of former Ameriprise Broker Brian Michael Megibow

Investigation of former Ameriprise Broker Brian Michael Megibow

June 30, 2025

Colling Gilbert Wright is investigating investor claims against former Ameriprise Financial Services, LLC securities broker Brian M. Megibow (Mr. Megibow) of Ft. Myers, Florida, for the alleged mishandling of client accounts.

Mr. Megibow’s Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) BrokerCheck Report (CRD: #308351) reflects that the representative was permitted to voluntarily resign from Ameriprise while the firm was “reviewing his trading strategy and client contact.” He left the firm in January 2025. Mr. Megibow’s record also indicates two other terminations as well as four customer disputes, including one alleging theft and others alleging frontrunning, unauthorized trading, and account mismanagement. The broker was previously registered at Dean Witter Reynolds, Inc. (now Morgan Stanley), Amsouth Investment Services, Inc., and SunTrust Investment Services, Inc. (now Truist Securities, Inc.). Ameriprise and the others, as the employing firms, have the obligation and duty to review customer account activity to ensure the accounts are handled properly and there are no compliance violations. To the extent that any of these duties are neglected or breached, the clients may be entitled to a monetary recovery of his or her investment losses.

If you had a prior client relationship with Mr. Megibow and lost money as a result of his account management and trading activity, please contact our office for a free case evaluation. There is no fee or cost unless there is a recovery. Thank you.
