FINRA Hires Date Analytics Head from SEC

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA)announced that it has hired a current assistant director at the U.S. Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) as senior vice president and leader of the self-regulatory organization (SRO) advanced data analytics team.  Erozan Kurtas will join FINRA on Feb. 23, the SRO said.

In this new role, Mr. Kurtas will be responsible for enhancing FINRA’s data analytics capabilities by improving the ways in which the organization uses the data it receives from member brokerage firms. FINRA stated the full use of data analytics is essential to upholding the SRO's stated mission of protecting investors and ensuring the integrity of the financial markets.
